I find myself returning to a familiar old saying as I contemplate Marilee Adams' latest webinar with STIA+NOW.
"Give someone a fish and they eat for a day. Teach someone to fish and they eat for a lifetime."
This is the power of Question Thinking, as Marilee puts it. Once in a while an idea comes along that helps us see the world in a new way. In the case of Question Thinking, this idea comes along and teaches you the skills--or perhaps it would better to call it a stance, or a philosophy towards life--that helps you start reframing the world on your own. This is the power of mindset, and as Marilee explains in the webinar, there is a huge difference between that of the Learner and (sound familiar?) the Judger.
In the days since attending the webinar, I've been examining my habits of thought as I go through my day and find myself traveling down one path or the other. I've been grateful for the chance to become aware of my personal patterns.
Marilee wrote a book, "Change Your Questions, Change Your Life." It's a bestseller. Check out the webinar, and if you'd like to go deeper, you can start with her website at www.inquiryinstitute.com.
